What Are You Doing on November 22nd?

Friday, July 31, 2009

Yeah, so much for my "wait and see what happens" approach. I just couldn't resist the temptation of registering for Philly. I got injured last year training for it and had to fall back to the half marathon. It just wasn't the same. Supposedly there is some town called Manayunk or something in the second half of the race that is cool to run through and has hills? And there's an unofficial water station up there where people serve beer? I don't know, but this marathon was just sitting there mocking me since I bailed on it last year so I had to register for it again. Plus I think I may know a few people who are running it. So shout out if you are in for Philly. Looking forward to kicking asphalt in November!

Yea, so cool that you registered.

There was a stand in manayunk handing out beer last year. It might have been the only time in my life I turned one down...

Happy training!

If they moved the beer further down, I would've been ALL over it!

Paul..Good luck with Philly this year! I'm still committed to Baltimore, but might still follow it up with a Philly Half. Still interested in a side of Beacon. Headed back to Bodman Aug. 9th.

looks like we have 2 marathons to run together this fall!

Let see what I will be doing on Nov. 22nd? Truthfully, I will not be running in the Philadelphia Marathon. I will be too busy chasing a turkey!

FYI - Philadelphia Marathon still rank one of the best race I've participated in.

I live in Manayunk. It was hard to run down Main Street and turn around at mile 20 knowing that if I just kept going another half mile, I could be home in my bed.

You run through it for miles 18-21 I think. And there is so much energy there, it's a great boost at a hard time in the race.

And it's one small hill, and it's nothing, trust me. I run (ran) it everyday.

Good luck!!! :)
