Friday morning was a rough one – I played tennis late Thursday night, and probably got about 5 hours of actual sleep (very low for me) before dragging myself out of bed at 5:30am. So I put on the headlamp and headed out onto the Henry Hudson trail in the pouring rain. I really kind of like running in the rain, always have, but it doesn’t make the conditions any less adverse. As I was crossing a street on one part of the trail in the downpour, I looked up and saw another guy running, on the street, decked out in all the reflective running gear paraphernalia. He shouted over to me “So I’m not the only one crazy enough to be out here”. We exchanged pleasantries about running in the rain (as much as you can when crossing paths like that) and we were both on our way. Very cool, I’m used to only seeing creatures of the four legged variety at that hour – something like that really picks you up when you are dragging.
